“Look only at your hand, and draw. Don’t look at the paper and don’t lift the pencil from the page.” This was the instruction given to 22 people from 11 different countries that recently attended the inaugural S.A.L.T. (Strategic Arts Leadership Training) event in Rome, Italy. The purpose of this instruction was to
help participants engage the creative part of their mind, key for artists and those that lead artists.
The SALT event is being undertaken to facilitate understanding and equip leaders to support teams of artists who will be resident as long term missionaries in many countries around the world. By preparing the canvas in this way, we anticipate that leaders in world missions will support the "arts in missions" initiative so that Christian artists can engage communities and share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him. As part of this process OM Arts International is identifying the challenges and working towards solutions so artists and creative people will be released to proclaim the name of Jesus throughout the world.
